WHAT
INSPIRES ME
AND SHAPES MY PHILOSOPHY
My work is deeply influenced by three legendary houses: Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, and Balmain.
Each represents something I connect with on a fundamental level.
Saint Laurent taught me about power dressing—the sharp precision of Le Smoking, the fearless use of transparency and sensuality, the architectural precision in tailoring.
YSL understood that true elegance lies in simplicity and purity of line, in the confidence of a woman in a perfectly cut tuxedo.
It’s about empowerment through clothing, breaking down gender barriers while maintaining an effortless sophistication.
Alexander McQueen showed me that fashion is theater, that it can be dark and romantic, beautiful and unsettling all at once.
I embrace his gothic sensibility — the intricate lacework, the dramatic silhouettes, the juxtaposition of soft and hard, feminine and masculine.
McQueen’s work was never about subtlety; it was about making a statement, about provoking emotion.
The skull motifs, the Victorian influences, the theatrical drama—they remind me that fashion can be art.
Balmain represents unapologetic maximalism and structured glamour. The strong shoulders, the cinched waists, the bold statement-making pieces that demand attention—Balmain is about power and confidence. It’s fashion that makes you stand taller.
When I style, I’m blending these influences. Even if it’s a casual everyday outfit, I find a way to give it a slight edge.
But here’s where my taste for a specific aesthetic met with uncomfortable reality: when I saw the environmental problem with fast fashion, as well as the financial burden that came with purchasing these luxury pieces, I started shopping at vintage and second-hand shops.
At first, I was ashamed of it.
But then more information about the environmental damage and the realization that most people can’t afford these luxury items came to light and made me feel like I was on the right path.
Remembering my childhood and how I adjusted and flourished — like a flower breaking through a concrete wall — gave me certainty that I could achieve the luxury look without going broke and polluting the planet.
That philosophy is what drove me to create Angjel’s Method — a way to help others cultivate impeccable style sustainably, regardless of what they can afford.
